A few days ago when I talked about ways to collect coupons I forgot to mention another one of my favorites: ecoupons.
Ecoupons are coupons that can be loaded onto your frequent shopper/rewards card. I don’t know all the stores that participate in this, so you’ll have to check to see if yours does, but I know that Kroger, Safeway, Smiths, and many other affiliates do.
To load ecoupons onto your rewards card, register your card on the ecoupon site, then add the coupons you are interested in. Honestly, I usually just add them all because I never know if I will find that product on clearance or on a really good sale, and it’s nice to have the ecoupons already loaded on my card.

How to use ecoupons:Registers are set up to take the ecoupon off your total when you use the card, so basically they advertise it as clip-free, print-free couponing. It makes it very convenient. But I like to sweeten the deal further by ALSO using my paper coupons. Although NORMALLY you can’t stack two manufacturer’s coupons, registers WILL take off BOTH e-coupons and paper coupons. They will not double ecoupons though if your store doubles coupons, and the ecoupons will only come off one time, even if you purchase several of that item.
Here’s an example of a transaction I did a few weeks ago using ecoupons:
Nature Valley Nut Clusters were on sale for $2.29. I had loaded a $1.00 off ecoupon from Cellfire. I also used a $1.00 off coupon from a recent newspaper insert. The register took BOTH of the coupons off, so this made the nut clusters $0.29. THEN, to make it an even better deal (although it still would have been a great deal!) my store had a catalina deal where you got a $1 catalina when you bought two Nature Valley products. Sweet! Free nut clusters!
