Last week we made felt figures and today I’m showing how to make an easy flannel board to use as the base to your kids’ creative play. There are lots of different ways to make a flannel board, and this way is super simple, but if you’re a visual learner like me, it’s nice to see how it’s been done.
You’ll need:
- Large board
- Large piece of flannel or felt
- Staple gun
I bought the board cut to the size I wanted at Lowes for about $10. The felt was from Hobby Lobby, with a 40% coupon. You can also use flannel. Check the fabric remnant baskets–I’m always seeing pieces of flannel or felt in there.
1. Cut the fabric so it’s a couple of inches larger than the board, all the way around.
2. Pull the fabric tight around the edge of the board, and staple.
3. Fold in the corners and staple well.
4. Repeat the process all the way around the board, and done!
You can hang the board, or just prop it against the wall.
