I recently heard the question, “what do homeschoolers eat for lunch?” While the answer to this question can probably apply to anyone with kids, I thought I’d share some of the things we do for lunch. (But it’s usually last night’s leftovers or a salad for my husband and me.)
- Macaroni and cheese (often sneak in some carrot, squash, or sweet potato puree for added nutrition!)
- Hot dogs
- Pigs in a Blanket
- Bean burritos
- Quesadillas
- Homemade “lunchables” (crackers, cheese, lunchmeat, juice box)
- Almond butter and jelly (sandwich or tortilla wrap)
- Pasta salad (cold cooked pasta, variety of chopped veggies, chopped meat, cheese chunks, Italian or ranch dressing)
- Mini Pizzas
- Breakfast burrito (scrambled eggs and cheese in a tortilla)
- Sandwich on a stick
- Grilled cheese sandwiches, soup
- Spaghettios (often sneak in some carrot, squash, or sweet potato puree for added nutrition!)
- Squid Dogs
- Muffins
- Hardboiled eggs
I always serve either a fruit or veggie (or both) with our meal and often yogurt (especially because I can almost always find it for FREE or super cheap with coupons!!).
What do you like to serve for lunch?

Oh Pam… what would I do without you?! This list is going on my fridge, in my purse, and on the the grocery list. I am sick to death of mac & cheese… I dont care how homemade it is. I need some variety here… and it may improve my ratings as a mom too! NEED THAT!! Thanks for the peek lovey…

Oh I am so trying those squid dogs with my kids, as homeschoolers ourselves we’re always up for finding new lunchtime meals that are simple to fix and nutritious as well.
