Have I mentioned that I LOVE the flea market? Well I do. And luckily I have a friend that loves going too. We found some awesome stuff the other day and we are anxious to refurbish and decorate.

Check out this old print…I bought it because I love the details of the old frame. I haven’t decided if I want to spray paint it black, or leave it as is with the gold.

And while we are on the frame subject, I have to laugh about a little incident that happened in the store. There was a rad vintage-y looking (but slightly out of my budget) oval frame I was thinking about getting when an older lady walked by and commented about what a cute picture it was. Truthfully, I have no idea what the print was because my eye was on the frame only. Aja mentioned something about me wanting to spray paint the frame and the lady’s mouth dropped. “What would you want to do that for?” she asked. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to explain to her that I wanted to modernize it. It seems I have a clear vision of what I want to do, but can’t always communicate the creativity to others. So after a minute Aja and I just agreed with the lady that it was a beautiful frame, knowing that it definitely would be after we were done with it!

Isn’t this the BEST birdcage! As soon as I saw it, it had to be mine. I *heart* it’s funky curves. I’m thinking about spray painting it a light turquiose, but Jared likes it as is. So still thinking on that one…But don’t worry, it’s just for decoration or maybe to house a plant, not a bird.

Okay, and now can we all celebrate the coolness of this shabby-chic old chair! Aja and I fought over it a bit. She takes amazing photos and her signature thing is to use funky chairs in the backdrop. So after debating with myself over the price for a while I gave in and *let* her have it. But THEN the little sneak my fabulous friend left it at my house with the claim “it would just sit in her garage.” So we made a deal that I would babysit it until a photoshoot opportunity requires it! It’s probably my favorite thing in our house right now.

I almost cried I was so excited about these rusty metal owls. For some reason I’m a bit obsessed with them at the moment. I think it’s because I feel fall sneaking in. Although it’s still shorts and sandals weather over here, the leaves are just starting to get a tinge of color and I’m antsy to pull out my sweaters.

My living room is finally starting to come together–a year after we’ve lived here. Here are some other peeks of elements we have going on in the room. Maybe some day it will be “done” enough that I feel like I can show off the whole thing!
