Do have a favorite children’s author you cling to, collecting everything he/she writes?
I’m obsessed with Mo Willems.
My kids love his books too, especially the ones about Elephant and Piggie. The stories are simple in dialog and illustration, but have a way of sucking them in with the silly characters’ animated facial expressions. From a reading-teacher perspective, these books are perfect for teaching the comprehension strategy of inferring feelings.
Should I Share My Ice Cream? is about the (sometimes difficult) decision to share with someone else. I love that the book shows Gerald the Elephant’s very relatable thought process as he analyzes, rationalizes, and justifies different scenarios in his decision to share (or not to share!) his ice cream with his best friend, Piggie.
Thankfully, Blue Bunny makes sharing easy! Keep the good times rolling this summer with signature Bunny Tracks ice cream, classic Simply Vanilla ice cream sandwiches or irresistibly fun Mini Swirls.
Ice cream lovers can enjoy tantalizingly tasty Blue Bunny ice cream flavors, cones, sandwiches and bars made in Le Mars, Iowa–from fresh milk sourced from local dairy farms. For more information, visit www.bluebunny.com.
Another thing that makes sharing easy is YOU. I’m continually humbled and grateful for the support you show me and my little store. And for that, I say thank you with a fun ice cream cone craft template!
To create these Ice Cream Cone Crafts, you’ll need:
- Ice Cream Cone Printable Template (link to the printable at the bottom of this post)
- white paper or card stock
- paint or crayons/markers/paint sticks
- (optional) colored card stock or patterned paper
Print Ice Cream Cone Craft Template
Print the ice cream cone template. We prefer to use white card stock for a sturdier project.
Color or Paint Your Ice Cream Cone Craft Template
We’re currently hooked on paint sticks. They produce vibrant colors and paint-like-texture without the mess of actual paint.
Cut Ice Cream Cone Craft Template Pieces
Assemble and Embellish Ice Cream Cones
Assemble ice cream cones with glue. We also embellished the cones with marker and added colorful “sprinkles” using real sprinkles, gluing them on just as you would glitter. The final customized project results are so fun for summer and make a stunning display for the fridge or bulletin board!
