We had so much fun building sandcastles at the beach and playing with beach sand play dough, that we continued the activity with a simple build-a-sandcastle craft template. And actually, these cut-and-paste sandcastles were easier to build and held up a better than those made from crumbly sand! Supplies Needed:
- Build-a-Sandcastle Printable Craft Template
- white paper or card stock
- crayons/markers/paint/paint sticks
- scissors
- glue
- black marker
- (optional) colored card stock, patterned paper, painted paper or watercolor resist painted paper
Download and Print the Build-a-Sandcastle Craft Template
Download the sandcastle craft template and print on white paper or card stock. We prefer card stock as it makes the craft sturdier, especially when using markers or paint.
Color or Paint
Color or paint the sandcastle template. My kids love any excuse to get out the paint, but crayons or markers work great too!
Cut & Assemble the Sandcastle Pieces
Cut around each template piece and assemble the sandcastle with glue. This project doesn’t have a right or wrong way, so have some fun creating a unique castle!
Embellish and Mount the Sandcastle Craft
If desired, add marker details.
Mount your completed sandcastle on a piece of card stock, patterned paper, painted paper or a watercolor resist “water” background then display!
